We hope this doesn't change how you feel about the My[Q]Box service. We still get SLL security, you just have to click one more time to get past the warning. Note that the certificate still points to the right domain and was verified by VeriSign originally, we just didn't help line their pocketsMikeReedKShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06390088486526349316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5561438.post-1063127511968679042003-09-09T12:11:00.000-05:002003-09-09T12:40:20.123-05:00Get Started With My[Q]Box and Blogger.com
The getting started guide now teaches new users how to use BLOGGER.COM to set up their own blog page and then add a My[Q]Box to the page.
My[Q]Box requires that a user have a web page or some HTML page somewhere to add a My[Q]Box. With the number of different editors and all the different ways to work with HTML, it seemed impossible to write a simple MikeReedKShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06390088486526349316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5561438.post-1062078505339947272003-08-28T08:48:00.000-05:002003-09-09T11:59:58.723-05:00Things are looking GREAT!
My[Q]Box is looking great! I want to thank all the new and existing users for their support!!! I have left my full time job to focus 100% on My[Q]Box. Everyone keep telling your friends and 2003 will be a great year! Again, I thank EVERYONE for their support!!!MikeReedKShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06390088486526349316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5561438.post-1060057293912010482003-08-04T23:21:00.000-05:002003-08-04T23:24:00.583-05:00Say Goodbye to the Super Lexicon and Hello to Synonym
I moved the tools around a bit today. The "Super Lexicon" started as the "Custom Thesaurus" tool, but you could only get to it from the "Check Thesaurus Results" tool. It was very confusing, can you tell?
To make things a bit more understandable, I blended the "Near Lexicon" and "Exact Lexicon" into the "Lexicon" tool, DUH! There were so few MikeReedKShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06390088486526349316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5561438.post-1059428113636035242003-07-28T16:35:00.000-05:002003-07-28T16:44:11.586-05:00More HTML Email
Only one email left in the free signup process to convert to HTML. The new Screen Name email is still flat text, and now that I'm converting to HTML, the old ones really look awful. I converted the new domain email which really added quite a bit of power. It now more obviously presents the HTML to add a simple My[Q]Box to any HTML page and had a big bold green link to the Getting MikeReedKShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06390088486526349316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5561438.post-1058584154868399892003-07-18T22:09:00.000-05:002003-07-18T22:09:14.906-05:00The Blog Goes Live
Ok, I guess the blog is official now. I added a link on the main My[Q]Box web site page to the blog. I also added quite a few blog related keywords to the Goggle Adwords account hoping that the blogging community might find My[Q]Box cool.
Well it's been great, had our busiest day ever today. Folks love it and it feels great. We have worked hard on this for a long time, so MikeReedKShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06390088486526349316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5561438.post-1058112623189695332003-07-13T11:10:00.000-05:002003-07-13T11:11:05.416-05:00Teach Directly from the Unanswered Question Email
In the past, every email sent used plain text to assure that every user could read it. But in the effort to achieve "Old Lady Easy", I have broken stride and converted the "Question Unanswered" email that is sent out when a user asks a question but receives a default answer to HTML. It looks much nicer than the previous version and allows the MikeReedKShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06390088486526349316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5561438.post-1057890512922305342003-07-10T21:28:00.000-05:002003-07-10T21:29:17.400-05:00No More Lame Counter
I created an inline frame on this page and filled it with a blank page served from the myqbox.com web servers so that I can use my log analyzer to track who is visiting and how often. I'm used to hosing my own pages, so I was a bit dismayed that I couldn't know who was visiting or how often. Originally I decided to just add a page counter to the blog page, but how lame is MikeReedKShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06390088486526349316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5561438.post-1057850762480360932003-07-10T10:26:00.000-05:002003-07-10T13:49:14.036-05:00New Version of the Getting Started Guide
I was up late last night updating the "Getting Started Guide" to reflect the recent changes to the system. I keep trying to figure out ways to make getting started even easier and I hope the new automatic [Q]Form feature makes a big impact on helping folks get started quickly and easily.
My goal is to have it take less than five minutes from the time youAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5561438.post-1057791002930290962003-07-09T17:50:00.000-05:002003-07-10T13:50:17.123-05:00Added Links to All My Online Projects & Updated My[Q]Box
I added links for each of the projects that I have been responsible for that have a web presence. I have been making nice enhancements to the My[Q]Box system lately.
I've smoothed out the sign-up process and added super lexicons to the near lexicon list. These are so very cool. I really love all the programming on TechTV, I watch "The Screen Savers" religiously (Thank you TiVo!). I added links to my favorite shows and then decided to send Sarah Lane (The queen of the Blog) and Leo Laporte (The king of all that is tech) an email telling them about my new blog and hopefully turning them on to My[Q]Box.
I could see them both needing My[Q]Box Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5561438.post-1057760815292628032003-07-09T09:26:00.000-05:002003-07-09T17:28:00.980-05:00Birth of the My[Q]Box Blog!
